A Little About Me...

WHERE I COME FROM

My parents raised me in the Republican hills of the lower Adirondacks. I married my wonderful wife Susan and we moved to TX days after our wedding, some 20 years ago. We built a home for ourselves on the quiet shores of Lake Weatherford, with my three beautiful girls, whom all attend Weatherford ISD. My wife, Susan, taught for 12 years in the Fort Worth ISD, before accepting a job at Mary Martin Elementary, in the WISD. I began my teaching career at Manuel Jara Elementary, before moving on to Seminary Hills Park Elementary (Both in the FWISD). I then served as an adjunct instructor at Weatherford College, and now, I am a proud, Tenured Professor at Tarrant County College, NW Campus. Education is...our LIFE!

EXPERIENCE

With six years of experience on the Weatherford School Board, as both a member and Vice-President, I have developed a strong understanding of the business practices of Independent School Districts. As a Tenured Professor, who just so happens to be a staunch Republican, I have a profound understanding of our higher education systems. As a founder and former owner of the Parker County Brewing Company, I have a deep understanding of the hurdles facing small business owners today. As Vice-Chairman of the Weatherford Planning & Zoning board I’ve developed a broad understanding of growth and development. With a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and experience in administration, I understand the role of processes, committees, and sub-committees. Education is...My LIFE!

MISSION STATEMENT

Defending the Past, Fighting for the Future

When elected, I will work tirelessly, to better position Texas Education, for the tough times ahead & I promise to always do what is Right! Never forgetting that what is popular is not always right, and what is right, is not always popular. As a proud, strong, and faith-filled Conservative, I also promise to represent those in SBOE District 11 with professionalism, honor, and integrity.

Sincerely,

Dr. Joshua Tarbay
